John Peel (1939 - 2004)
Music has lost one of it's greatest ambassadors. The legendary Mr John Peel has died.
It's sad to think that I won't be able to listen to him introduce me to new bands anymore, and reminding me of the music that came before I was born, but which influenced all the music that I listen too today!
All I can say is cheers John. Thanks for helping me develop an appreciation of all kinds of music.
To Peely!

The dudes a ledge. always be in my memories. Never forget this tape i've got where half of it is John Peel's show and the other half The Radio One Rock show. John Peels show had 1930's detroit blues (sounded like it was played on a gramaphone-genius) a really portishead type atmospheric indie/trip-hop track, and the coolest death metal song i've ever heard called 'comatose' which lasted about 10 minutes with millions of sections.. The guy was a genius. Such a range of colours in the tones of collection. Never a disappointment listening to it when he came on.
